Day 5 - Aran Islands

Dun Aengus

View from Dun Aengus. Dun Aengus is a vast fortification perched on the summit of a hill that rises from the ocean to a height of 300 feet. Half the site, consisting of three concentric enclosures, has fallen into the sea, but what is left makes a fascinating sight. It is said that the fort was built by the Fir Bolg, a pre-historic tribe.
